Community Involvement
LSMS encourages its member physicians to be active participants and leaders in their
communities in areas of particular interest to them. As an organization, LSMS plans an
annual fundraising event, sponsors a community program, and coordinates legislative
activities.
EXPO:
An annual fundraising exposition held each November for LSMS member physicians and their
staff. Over 40 vendors display products and services of interest to physicians and staff
in a festive atmosphere of food, fun and prizes.
We Care:
A program of LSMS, We Care coordinates the referral of eligible patients to volunteer
medical specialists and arranges for Sovereign Immunity protection of physicians.
Doctor of the Day:
Physicians who are willing to spend a day in Tallahassee during the legislative session
perform an invaluable service by providing health care for members of the legislature
and legislative employees.
